Some bathrooms are bigger than others. Shouldn't the sinks inside be, too? While one large sink isn't economical, having two in a large room is better for directing traffic. A master or single bathroom in a home - especially if a family lives there - will experience a large amount of traffic in the morning. Instead of waiting your turn and timing everything just so, why not install a double bathroom vanity? With sinks, a longer counter, and more cabinet space, double sink vanities allow two people to use the bathroom at once. All of the smaller aspects of getting ready in the morning, from, shaving or applying makeup to washing your face and brushing your teeth, take time. Increase your time and make the bathroom more efficient by adding a double sink vanity.
Double sink vanities are designed in traditional styles. Often, this uses a wooden cabinet with a light or dark finish, a stone countertop, and a sink basin. The countertop may also be a dark or light color and made from natural or synthetic stone. As far as space is concerned, double sink vanities may have a large single cabinet or two smaller cabinets. While the storage space may be the same for both types of designs, the two-cabinet design needs a different installation procedure.
Most bathrooms have a single pipe running to the sink. This arrangement can continue for double sink vanities but not always. If you plan to add a double sink design in place of a single-sink model, 30 inches must be in between both basins if a single waste line is to be used. If the double vanity has a drawer in between the two basins, a separate trap and drain will need to be added for the second basin.
With the many options available for double sink vanities, consider one that will make your space efficient and that will match your existing decor.
